The Gran Sasso Center  for Astroparticle Physics is a network among three joint institutes: Gran Sasso National Laboratory of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the Physics Departments of Rome Tor Vergata University and L'Aquila University.

The Physics Department of L'Aquila University since more than 20 years is deeply involved in many different research lines in the field of Astroparticle Physics. Mainly in the studies of direct Dark Matter detection, in neutrino physics and in the study of ultra high energy cosmic rays.
The Physics Department of Rome Tor Vergata University has an important tradition in the field of Astroparticle Physics. Its main research lines are focused on the gamma ray astronomy, gravitational waves detection, study of ultra high energy cosmic rays and the direct detection of Dark Matter.

The Gran Sasso National Laboratory, of the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), is the largest and best equipped underground laboratory in the world. Its experimental halls host the world leading experiments in the fields of direct Dark Matter detection, neutrino physics and rare phenomena.
